Teen Summer Reading Program

Sign up with a librarian for the Teen Summer Reading Program at the reference desk, or email us with your name, age, and phone number and we'll sign you up.

Wednesday, June 26th, 2-4 p.m. in the Carnegie Room. Were going to party just like the Hobbits. Tea, cakes & root beer will supplement rounds of Lord of the Rings trivia, riddle games and more. We’ll also watch and make fun of the animated Hobbit cartoon. Be sure to sign up at the upstairs librarians’ desk by Tuesday, June 25th.

Raffle tickets you earned during Prizes for Pages give you a chance to win movies, music, books, comic books, canvas bags, & more.  You’ll get these raffle tickets when you hit the 600, and 1400 page reading goals.  More tickets means more chances at prizes, as your name can be drawn multiple times!  The raffle will be held Friday, August 31st.

600 - one raffle ticket

1400 - three raffle tickets

Are fines preventing you from checking out books?  Sign up for summer reading and we’ll let you check out one book.   You read 200 pages and we’ll subtract $5 off your fines.  Read 400 pages and we’ll subtract an additional $5 off your fines (that’s up to $10 total).  If you still have fines after that we’ll get you on a payment plan and you can start checking out books again.

Thursday, July 18th, 7-9p.m. Get dressed up and come party with us Goth-style. We’ll show videos, listen to music and try Dance Party with the game volume off but Goth music turned on. Snacks provided. Be sure to sign up at the upstairs Information Desk by 7/13.

Thursday, August 15th, 1-7p.m. Teens will spend the day reading in the Carnegie Room alongside other teens. Snacks and dinner (pizza) will be provided. Every hour, we’ll take a five minute break to get more books. Be sure to sign up at the Information Desk by Tuesday, August 13th.

Use your artistic skills to craft a logo for the underground band Beneath the Surface. The winning design will receive $50 in Downtown Bucks to spend in businesses along 3rd Street. See an upstairs librarian for an entry form. Submissions are due by Wednesday, August 14th.
