 Ultimate Reading Challenge

Welcome to the Ultimate Reading Challenge.
In case you are new this year or have forgotten how this works, here are the rules of the program.
Happy Reading!

Kids twelve years old and younger who can already read are invited to take the Ultimate Reading Challege.
The challenge is to read every day, all summer long, for 20 minutes each day.

Kids can read for more than 20 minutes each day, but they can only count 20 minutes each day.

There are no roll over minutes.  If you read 40 minutes one day, you still have to read 20 minutes the following day.

No skipping days.

There are no reading police watching your every move.  We are trusting that you are accurately recording how much time you are reading.

You can read anything you want to read - as long as your parents agree! Oh, except computer games. They don't count.

You don't have to read 20 minutes without stopping. For example, you can read the newspaper for 10 minutes in the morning, read a book for 5 minutes at lunch time, and read a picture book to your baby brother at bedtime for 5 minutes.

And what do you GET if you finish???
1. You earn a ticket to a Trail Blazer game.
2.  You earn extra time on the computers at the Library.
3. You earn an ice cream treat.
4. You get a ticket to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
AND
5. You name gets put into a drawing for a MP3 player, which can also have books downloaded onto them in addition to music.

When you finish, bring your completed bookmark back to the library for your rewards!

Bookmarks need to be turned in by Wednesday, September 8, 2010.
