Friends Book Sales
The Friends hold used book sales on the second Saturday of January, March, May, July, September, and November from 10am (9 am for members) to 2pm.  Proceeds from the sales go towards the purchase of new materials for the library.  Donations of books for the book sale are accepted year-round and are tax deductible.
Please check our donation policy  to see if we can accept your items to donate. The Friends of the Library thank the estate of Wellington J. Gotschall for the generous donation of over 1000 books for the September book sale.

Author Readings
Each year the Friends of the McMinnville Library and the Friends of the Nicholson Library (Linfield College) team up to present “Readings at the Nick”, a series of author readings. Past authors have included Tracy Kidder, Philip Margolin, Ursula LeGuin, and David James Duncan.

Explore Oregon Programs
Each year in January and February, the Friends sponsor a series of programs that specifically highlight Oregon and Yamhill County speakers, authors, slide shows, and other programs of interest to our community. The programs are on Saturdays at 2pm and usually run for four-five weeks.

Essay and Haiku Contests
Throughout the year Friends members sponsor and act as judges for the Children's Essay and Teen Haiku Contests.
